• An article (Man nearly sucked out of plane tells of his ordeal, 22 July, p1, early editions) was incorrect in saying that Ljubisa Karović “is the only person to have been sucked out of an aircraft window […] and survived”. In 1990, a British Airways pilot, Capt Timothy Lancaster, also survived after being propelled halfway through a cockpit window that fell out on a flight from Birmingham to Málaga.
