US Open 2026: Auger-Aliassime and Musetti depart; Fritz, Osaka and Swiatek win – as it happened

From the publisher

Jovic is up next on Stadium 17, against Fran Jones, the only British player left in the singles, but it’s time to wrap up this blog now, on a day when Taylor Fritz, Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka, Amanda Anisimova, Alexandra Eala, Flavio Cobolli, Jakub Mensik and Madison Keys (just) all won, but Felix Auger-Aliassime, Lorenzo Musetti and Britain’s Harriet Dart departed. Do check the site later for a match report on De Minaur (he trails Van de Zandschulp by a break in the first set), while Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Elena Rybakina and Gael Monfils are coming up in the night session. Bye! Andreeva hits long on the match point…
