The Houthis - the Iran-backed group in Yemen, said on Thursday they had carried out a military operation targeting two Saudi oil tankers, identified as ENCELA and LAYLIA, saying the vessels violated the naval blockade imposed by the group on Monday. The Houthis’ announcement prompted the Saudi-led coalition to declare that it would respond “firmly”, in a move that threatens to disrupt global energy supplies beyond the Gulf. The Saudi authorities have not immediately confirmed the strike. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said it had received reports that a tanker had been struck by an unknown projectile and caught fire in the Red Sea, 70 nautical miles from Saudi…
