• An article about private equity’s involvement in UK businesses (Run for profit, 29 June, p4) implied that 2022 strikes by Biffa staff in Manchester took place while the company was owned by Energy Capital Partners. In fact, ECP did not buy Biffa until 2023 and at the time of the strikes Biffa was a FTSE250-listed company. • Malaysian Airlines flight 370 disappeared on 8 March 2014, not on that date in 2018 (Secrets of the deep, 9 June, Journal, p5). Also, the Challenger expedition sounded a depth of 26,850 feet at the Mariana Trench in 1875, not 27,450 feet. This was not the deepest point recorded at the time,…
