• An article said that Wael Sawan, the CEO of Shell, received a pay rise of 60% to £13.7m (FTSE bosses paid 130 times more than average worker, 20 July, p25). After publication, Shell told us that this was not a pay rise, but a transition to full pay following a three-year vesting period. • We misnamed an England football supporter, Rachael Judge (Fans feel the drama, 16 July, p6, later editions) as “Rachel George”.
