Fuel prices rise 16 cents a litre in Perth as excise cuts scale back Petrol prices are a little higher around the country today – and a lot higher in Perth – after the fuel excise relief has begun to taper off. The federal and state governments’ 32-cent-a-litre cut to the fuel tax has today been replaced with a 16-cent discount, to expire on 2 August.
