The brief
• An article about pronunciation (‘Happee’ or ‘happeh’? How to spot a different class of Mancunian, 1 July, p12) said the research was “led by Lancaster University”. In fact, it was carried out by both Lancaster University and the University of Manchester. • In tennis, it was Francisco Cerúndolo, not his brother Juan Manuel, who won Queen’s Club and was knocked out of Wimbledon by Jaume Munar (Shelton crashes outas stylish Fritz cuts a dash and cruises through, 1 July, p43, early editions).
